White Sheep (Orland Park)

Hey gang! We’re a minute behind posting our review for White Sheep in Orland Park. We love the Naperville location so had high hopes for Orland (spoiler alert: we were not disappointed). Our conversation-starter question was about the best birthday parties we've attended, which got us thinking about the factors that make a special occasion memorable. Good food, good atmosphere…White Sheep certainly delivers the foundation. BYO Friends!!

BEHIND OUR RATINGS

Food Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ [5/5]

Excellent across the board, savory and sweet. The menu isn't a mile long, and everything on it is executed well. The coffee is the stuff they roast and sell to other restaurants. It's what they're known for, and it lives up to the reputation. Drink-all-day good.

Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ [5/5]

Trendy, clean, slick. Black and white with that farmhouse chic thing they do so well. The espresso station is built into the middle of the restaurant, same as Naperville, but noticeably quieter here.

Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ [5/5]

Lemony yellow walls, mint-green booths, and a great 50s playlist to boot. The place was super crowded when we arrived, but we snagged a booth without any trouble. That said, you can’t really talk about Rockdale Pancake House without talking about Rockdale. Rockdale is a trip and I mean that literally and metaphorically.  Worth the drive.

Noise Level: ⭐⭐⭐ [3/5]

A busy room with music playing throughout. Nothing about the noise stood out to us either way.

Value for Money: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ [5/5]

Very fair price for the quality of the food and coffee.

Wait Time: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ [4x/5]

We got right in and got a booth. That said, we came early. By 10am there were still empty tables, but you can tell this place fills up fast. Plan accordingly.

Kid-Friendly: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ [4/5]

WHAT WE ORDERED

Court had the All American Breakfast, which was their skillet with ham, bacon, sausage, onions, green peppers, and roasted red peppers. Perfect size (not one of those nine-course-meal skillets). His bacon was crispy, well-done, and nice and thick. He also had the White Sheep latte (a honey syrup latte with cinnamon and whipped cream). Everything he had was outstanding.

Kay had the scrambled eggs and fruit, with crispy bacon. She raved about the fruit bruschetta: the cream cheese topping was terrific. Her bacon? Perfect. Her fruit cup was a little under-ripe, but otherwise a 5 across the board for Kay.

As for me (Bridget), I had scrambled eggs, a fruit cup, crispy bacon, and an English muffin. Everything was prepared just the way I ordered it, and the fruit was fresh.

Sunny tried both a strawberry donut (good, but too strawberry-y) and a chocolate donut (delicious). For his main he had chicken tenders and fries. He demolished the fries and thought the tenders were pretty good.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Our Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ [5/5]

What Made Us Smile:

The entire experience. It’s hard not to have a great time here.

What Could Be Better:

Only ding is the noise. The sound treatments help, but they can only do so much.

Will the SSBC Be Back?

Definitely.
